As a leader in the beverage sector in Angola, Refriango specializes in producing soft drinks, juices, waters, energy drinks, and alcoholic beverages. We were the first Angolan FMCG company to achieve FSSC 22000 (food safety management systems standard) and ISO 9001:2015 certifications.

Partnerships

Coca-Cola 

Production and distribution of The Coca-Cola Company brands. In 2022, The Coca-Cola Company and Refriango formalized a partnership for the production, bottling, and distribution of the American multinational's brands in Angola. As part of its strategy to promote innovation and grow consumer-recognized brands, as well as create partnerships with economic agents dedicated to market development, The Coca-Cola Company designated Refriango - Industry and General Trade, Ltd., internationally recognized for its quality levels, applying best industrial practices through a consistent strategy focused on the Angolan and international markets.
Within the scope of social responsibility, The Coca-Cola Company and Refriango created synergies to positively impact the quality of life for the population through projects related to water supply in communities without access and environmental projects that promote selective solid waste collection. These initiatives foster the circular economy with environmental education awareness actions. Sustainable supply practices and the reduction of carbon dioxide emissions throughout the value chain are industry commitments.

Super Bock Group

The Super Bock Group is the largest Portuguese company in refreshing beverages, leading its sector with a multi-brand strategy. It is also the top brewery in Portugal and the main national beer exporter through the Super Bock brand.
Their strategy focuses on developing strong brands and producing beverages in three categories – Beers (Super Bock and Carlsberg), Waters (Pedras and Vitalis), and Ciders (Somersby). They are also involved in soft drinks, wines, malt production and marketing, and tourism, owning two key assets in the Trás-os-Montes region: the Vidago and Pedras Salgadas thermal leisure parks.
The company is predominantly Portuguese-owned, with 44% owned by the Carlsberg Group and 56% by the VIACER Group.

Diageo

In 2018, Refriango formed a strategic partnership with Diageo, the world's largest producer of distilled beverages, resulting in the creation of DIREF - Beverage Industry. DIREF is an Angolan company dedicated to producing high-quality alcoholic beverages. This collaboration combines Diageo's global expertise with Refriango's leadership in the Angolan beverage market. Production is carried out locally at Refriango's industrial complex in Kikuxi. Among DIREF's standout products are renowned brands such as Gordon’s London Dry, VAT69, White Horse, Mr Dowell’s, Smirnoff Ice Original, Smirnoff Ice Double Black, Smirnoff Ice Guaraná, and Gordon’s Welwitschia, ensuring Angolan consumers have access to beverages with international quality standards.

Moet Hennesy

Moët Hennessy, the wine and spirits division of LVMH, includes twenty-five Maisons, internationally recognized for their rich terroirs, product quality, and skilled craftsmanship. Moët Hennessy has long committed to its environmental and social program, Living Soils Living Together.

Chandon

CHANDON is the sparkling wine brand of LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton, founded in 1959 by Robert-Jean de Vogüé, a visionary pioneer. He aimed to redefine the sparkling wine category and create excellent options in unexpected locations. Now present on four continents, CHANDON has wineries in Argentina, California, Brazil, Australia, China, and India. This makes CHANDON the largest sparkling wine company worldwide and the only winery where the sun never sets. CHANDON's collaborative network of sixteen winemakers from seven different nationalities represents new terroirs, innovative methods, and a curious approach that unites diverse origins and people.

Awards

The Monde Selection World Quality Awards, which recognize the excellence of consumer products from around the globe, have honored Refriango's brands multiple times. The company currently boasts 5 Grand Gold medals, 7 Gold medals, and 1 Silver medal. Brands such as Tigra, Pura, Nutry, and Blue have stood out among over 3,000 products, from 90 countries, showcasing national industry prowess on one of the most prestigious global forums for beverages and food.

With these awards, Refriango's iconic products have entered the esteemed World Quality Selection list. The jury highlighted the exceptional characteristics of Refriango products in terms of visual appeal, aroma, flavor, and packaging. The winning brands and flavors also excelled in rigorous laboratory tests conducted by an independent technical team outside Monde Selection, in line with European Union quality standards.

Monde Selection is the foremost global quality institute. Established in Belgium in 1961, it is a leading authority in evaluating the quality of consumer products.
